Are you Breeding Mutt Dogs? This is an email I received from our ad on PuppyFind, here was my response: “Hi thanks for the inquiry, Pinkerton (our English Cream Golden Retriever) is not a mix she comes from full AKC lines. Her puppies have a father who is a full AKC cocker spaniel to produce more of a miniature sized dog. International Designer Canine Registry require we have poodle in our lines so her grand babies will be golden\ cocker and a goldendoodle so yes you pretty much get mutts lol! Often there are health and inner breeding problems with purebred dogs and diluting the gene pool seems a great solution to those issues and I have seen success. They are fabulous, healthy, smart dogs. I make sure they all come from quality lines. When studying AKC we find most dogs originally are a mix of different breeds. The Golden Retriever was created in the mid 1800’s and wasn’t recognized by AKC until 1925 not even 100 years ago and the lines are a mix of a flat coated retriever, a Bloodhound, and water Spaniel. Maybe one day the Miniature Golden Retriever will be recognized by AKC too! Thanks for asking this will be a great subject for my blog! I really appreciate your time to check out what I am doing.” — Michele Taylor These are such outstanding family dogs! Michele TaylorOctober 26, 2015 Facebook0 Twitter LinkedIn0 Reddit Tumblr 0 Likes
