Puppy Picking!

Our sweet puppies from Pinkerton and Sullivan are 5-weeks-old now and it's time for their families to make the pick!

"Ned" is now Kona and he going Live with Corey and Katie in California!!! He is cream colored with a white blaze on his forehead. Birth weight: 1 lb 3 oz; current weight 7 lbs. 10 oz. our largest puppy in the litter. He has an adorable personality and loves to follow people and play! He is comfortable in any situation including car rides.

Kona Volhard score was mostly 3's

Mostly Three’s:

This puppy fits best with the average owner, accepts human leadership readily and can be good with children and elderly owners. He would likely be a good dog for obedience training, although he may be fairly active.

Volhard Test Results:
1. Social Attraction: Score 3 Came Readily, tail up
2. Following: Score 3 Followed Readily, tail up
3. Restraint: Score 5 No struggle No eye contact
4. Social dominance: Score 1 jumped, pawed, bit, and growled (this was all in a playful manner not aggressive)
5. Elevation dominance: Score 3 Struggled, settled, struggled settled
6. Retrieving: Score 4 Chased object and returned without it to the tester (I really like a score of 4 in retrieving because it shows willingness to do something for you and return quickly)
7. Touch sensitivity: Score 4 he responded after 4 counts ( this is good because he requires minimal correction to train equipment)
8. Sound Sensitivity: Score 3 Listened located sound, showed curiosity and walked toward the sound
9. Sight Sensitivity: Score 1 looked attacked and bit the towel (again this was in a playful non- aggressive manner)
10. Stability: Score 3 looked and went to investigate.
11. Structure: Score Good The puppy is correct in structure.


"Lucky Day" is now Tanner and he going to live with Mike and Tama in Calfornia. He a cream colored male with a small white blaze. Birth weight 1 lb. 3 oz.; current weight 7 lbs. 5 oz. He is smaller than Ned but larger than Rusty. He is very sweet and a little lower energy puppy than Ned and Rusty. He loves to cuddle!

His Volhard score was mostly 3's and 4's tied

This puppy is submissive and would fit with most owners, getting along well with children and elderly owners. He would train well, but may be somewhat less outgoing and energetic than a puppy that scores mostly three’s.

"Dusty" Light gold male, hidden Merle which means he has speckles around his nose and eyes and may have lighter eye color.  Birth Weigh 3 lbs. 15 oz. Current weight 6 lbs. 4 oz. He is the smallest charted puppy in the litter. He is a spunky pup and a little Houdini when it comes to escaping from the whelping box! He has a cute personality cuddly personality.
