Bark Park reading
We were so Blessed to have brother and sister, Laura and Mark, each get a puppy from the Box of Chocolates litter, they have Milo and Max. We at Taylormade were super excited when we received the newly released "Bark Park" by Trudy Krisher, Mark and Laura's mother. We thought it would be really fun to read the book with ALL of our dogs. Bark Park is a must HAVE for your book collection. It is wonderful for all ages and the Illustrations by Brooke Boynton-Hughes are beautiful. Our family absolutely loved the short rhyming sentences and there was some fun dog humor as well! My nieces and nephews are all getting a copy from Aunt Michele! I hope you enjoy the book reading...
All of our adorable puppies have gone to their loving homes, and we are very grateful to our amazing puppy families. These dogs bring the most wonderful people into my life. A HUGE THANK YOU to all who have gotten a puppy, we LOVE YOU!
I have had many, many more families who would like to add a Taylormade Miniature Golden Retriever to their life and we are planning upcoming litters!!! Please stay tuned!
Tiny Divinity Puff (from The Box of Chocolates litter) is staying with us! We call her "Vinni" for short because my 1-year-old son could not say "Divinity" and started calling her "Vinni," and it stuck! She was a tiny little puppy that initially I thought was dead when she was born, but she was alive and only weighed 4 oz. I did everything I knew to save her and amazingly it worked. I missed a lot of sleep for weeks helping this puppy slowly grow and survive. Our veterinarian was very concerned that she may have problems down the road because she suspected Vinni had hydrocephalus, which is water on the brain, and suggested we put her to sleep. I fled from the vet's office crying my eyes out. There was no way I could do that, I slept with this puppy and latched her each feeding onto her mother, Ruby, and supplemented her throughout the night with formula because she was too small to be unsupervised around the bigger puppies. I talked to her and prayed for her. Now I am just supposed to put her to sleep when she has fought so hard to live? I just couldn't do that when she seemed to be doing so well and happy to be alive. At 8-weeks-old I took her back to my vet, Vinni seemed to be doing super well so I thought my vet would have good news for me. My vet checked her and found a heart murmur. She asked if I would consent to Vinni being put to sleep. I told her I wasn't ready and left in tears again.
Vinni's litter was due on December 15th and they came on December 9; 6 days earlier than we planned. Vinni may have been the last egg fertilized and she may have been a little premature is a guess. All of the other puppies were completely full term so maybe she was the runt? We really do not know. She is a fighter and she is 12 weeks now thriving and doing AMAZING! I took her to another vet for a second opinion a couple of weeks ago, I was scared to death that vet was going to say she needed to be put to sleep. To my utter relief, the veterinarian said she looked really good and that he thought she did not look like she has hydrocephalus, he also said she will probably outgrow the heart murmur and have a completely normal life. Wow, It's always a good idea to get a second opinion, can you imagine if I had her put to sleep? We would never know the joy we have been able to enjoy with this little treasure Divinity Puff!
She has become our 4-year-old daughter's little puppy and the Taylormade mascot here. Here is my daughter with Vinni and Muttsy (Magnolia from the Tree Litter) Muttsy is here while her family is traveling to Israel, we are so lucky they are letting us watch her! We have really been enjoying her. It's so hard when all the puppies go home, we really get attached to those babies and its heaven when we get one back for a visit!
I thought I would add some of the fun pictures I have received from our puppy families!
Oh sooooo fun! It make my heart so happy to see these pictures, I have tons more to share! I'll share more in my next blog. Special thanks to Harper, Lucy, and Ziggy's families for the photos and Instagram pages!
